Day 5 of the #BloodbornBirthdayBash has an especially fun way to win +4 entries in the grand prize giveaway: find a cake that you think would be best for a Bloodborn birthday party. If you’re really daring, bake your own cake and take a picture. Details on how to enter are over at the Page Turners. And here’s an obligatory cute wolf with cake picture.

Well, I was born on December 5. My last birthday was decent. Sure, Washington gets icy and gloomy around that time of year, but the weather usually doesn’t have the balls to actually snow. I was still together with Cyn back then. We broke up over a month ago; don’t want to talk about that. But I can tell you that back in December, on my seventeenth birthday, Cyn’s present to me was this tiny little cactus with a red flower. She called it cute, and told me it was really easy to take care of, but I accidentally killed the cactus before Christmas.

If you knew me, you would think that every one of my birthdays was overflowing with books. If you knew me really well, you would know better than to buy me a book for my birthday. Chances are, I already have it, or I will soon. Now, when I was but a wee brat, a very long time ago, I do remember getting a specific book for my birthday.

Shiny, pretty, finished copies of Bloodborn. I can’t believe they’re finished books. There might have been a great deal of jumping around and uttering high-pitched noises when I opened the package. Isn’t it gorgeous? Look at the back cover! And the front!

Look what I found… the first two chapters of Bloodborn are on Google Books!

Kirkus reviewed Bloodborn! I can’t share the whole thing here, but here’s a quote:

“A bridge between paranormals and boys’ realism about thugs and delinquents, reminiscent of Neal Shusterman’s Dark Fusion: Red Rider’s Hood (2005)”—Kirkus Reviews

Bloodborn keeps getting closer and closer to becoming a real book… only a little over 2 months now!
