So, I managed to miss posting in time for Unofficial Agent Appreciation Day. But I’m not missing Agentor Day! That, my friends, is what I’m dubbing December 14, when you give thanks to both your agent and your editor. Because it doesn’t feel right to me to leave my editor out in the cold. My agent, Sara Crowe, is experienced, savvy, enthusiastic, and tenacious. At the risk of sounding narcissistic, I love how much she loves my writing. Particularly, her use of exclamation marks and comments such as “fabulous!” And her negotiations for me have definitely been fabulous. My editor, Brian Farrey, is endowed with a keen eye for liposuctioning manuscript flab, a great sense of humor, and enough patience to answer my endless questions. He even answers my odd requests about bookmark designs, and comments on my post-apocalyptic dreams about zombies. He’s been invaluable in clarifying my vision and stoking my excitement for new books.
